State government hikes Dearness Allowance by three per cent

BENGALURU: State government employees saw a three per cent increase in their Dearness Allowance effective from January 1, 2017 as the government decided to make the Ugadi festival a little brighter.

This will increase the DA from 40.25 per cent to 43.25 per cent of basic pay and is applicable to all full time government employees, those working in zilla panchayats, full time employees of aided educational institutions and universities and work charged employees on regular time pay scales.

In addition, the government has also sanctioned a three per cent increase in DA of basic pension and family pension with effect from January 1, 2017. The increase is also applicable to those drawing pension under UGC/AICTE and ICAR scales of pay.
