Senior BJP leader and MLA Umesh Katti predicted that the coalition government led by H D Kumaraswamy will fall, and B S Yeddyurappa will become chief minister again in six months. No BJP MLA was in touch with the Congress as claimed by Municipal Administration Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, he added. He rejected statements by Jarkiholi that some of the BJP MLAs wanted to join Congress.

"There is no merit in such claims," he said. Katti told reporters at Sankeshwar town, Hukkeri taluk on Monday, that many of the 118 MLAs in the JD(S)-Congress coalition, were in touch with BJP and wanted to switch loyalties. "This will result in the fall of the coalition government and Yeddyurappa will form the government again in the next six months," said Katti. Katti demanded that farmers' crop loans be waived as per the CM's pre-poll promise.
