Karnataka Deputy CM G Parameshwara on Monday ruled out discontent among Congress leaders regarding the distribution of portfolios. Speaking after the meeting at KPCC office in Bengaluru, Parameshwara said Party president Rahul Gandhi will take a final call on the issue on his return to India.

"We are likely to meet him either today evening or tomorrow morning. Newly appointed ministers will take oath on Wednesday," he said. According to reports, some Congress leaders are in Delhi to lobby for the ministerial berth. Congress and JDS alliance announced portfolios in a joint press conference held on Friday. Names of the ministers were not declared. Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, Deputy CM G Parameshwara, Congress State in charge  KC Venugopal and other senior leaders were present. Out of 34, the Congress got 22 portfolios.

SR Patil's resignation as Working President of KPCC:
Parameshwara said, "I came to know about his resignation. But, I don't the reason behind the resignation. I will try to convince him". SR Patil has tendered his resignation over the party's "unsatisfactory performance" in the recent assembly elections in North Karnataka. The party high command is yet to respond to Patil's resignation. The development comes in the wake of suggestions floated by Congress leaders that those who served as ministers for two terms in the previous governments be deputed for party work.
