Congress and JDS alliance announced portfolios in a joint press conference held on Friday. As of now, only the sharing of portfolios has been announced. Names of the ministers are not yet declared. Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, Deputy CM G Parameshwara, Congress State in charge KC Venugopal and other senior leaders were present. 

KC Venugopal said, " Rahul Gandhi has directed that this alliance is the need of the country. In the larger interests, we should take some decision. He spoke to HD Kumaraswamy and decided to give Finance portfolio to the JDS. Venugopal said, "As per the agreement between two parties: Common agenda of governance will be drafted based on manifestos of both the parties, a coalition monitoring committee to meet frequently, the appointment of spokesman from both parties, and Congress-JDS will fight 2019 as pre-poll allies." Out of 34, the JDS got 12 portfolios.
