HD Kumaraswamy says, 'JD(S) wanted to ensure BJP's defeat'

Reacting to RR Nagar polls, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Thursday that the JD(S) was not bothered about Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency, they just wanted to ensure BJP's defeat in the constituency.

The Congress was leading in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency in Bengaluru by a margin of over 88,931 votes votes, where counting began this morning amid tight security, as per trends. RR Nagar recorded around 53 percent voter turnout in all 471 polling stations on May 28. Earlier, the constituency was scheduled to go to polls on May 12 with 222 other constituencies of Karnataka but was postponed in light of the alleged fake voter ID scam. Hence, the elections in the constituency were conducted on May 28.
