In cricket it is said never predict the result until the last ball is over. Both the Congress and the BJP are using every trick to ensure that the are able to form the government. The Congress has already declared support to the JD(S) and the leaders even met with the Governor on Tuesday. The BJP too which is the single largest party met with the Governor.

There is hectic activity on behind the scenes to ensure that the numbers are cobbled up. Going by the current numbers, the BJP with the support of one independent has the support of 105. The Congress and JD(S) together with the support of one independent has 117 MLAs. For the Congress, the suspense continues with regard to four MLAs. Four Congress MLAs Anand Singh, Rajashekar Patil, Nagendra and M Y Patil are out of reach. Siddaramaiah however denied this and said that the entire flock is together. Both the Congress and JD(S) have their respective legislature party meetings scheduled for today. After electing the leader, they would wait for a call from the Governor.

In case there is no call from the Governor today, the MLAs would be moved to a resort. While the JD(S) may shift its legislators to the outskirts of Bengaluru, the Congress would park them at a resort in Kochi. The BJP on the other hand is trying to dish out the numbers. Earlier today, B S Yeddyurappa met with independent MLA, R Shankar and managed to muster his support. The BJP is also in touch with an another Independent MLA, who had declared support to the Congress on Tuesday. In another interesting development, the BJP's Prakash Javdekar met with H D Kumaraswamy and held discussions. There was no positive outcome for the BJP from this meeting since Kumaraswamy has already been offered the CM's chair by the Congress. The BJP is not ready to concede the CM's chair as yet.

The Congress high command on the other hand is overseeing the developments. The Congress which has already sent Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ashok Gehlot, will fly in Ahmed Patel to Karnataka. For now the Congress is desperately trying to keep its flock together. It will be flying in its MLAs from Kalaburgi and Bidar to Bengaluru through a special aircraft. The Congress has also decided to take signatures of support from its MLAs before it parades them before the Governor. The BJP leaders from Delhi are also holding talks and discussing the various possibilities of forming the government. BJP chief, Amit Shah will be in Bengaluru today and will hold several rounds of talks. The BJP is tapping into various sources to cobble up the numbers.
