Congress leader, D K Shivakumar posed a shocker during an election rally when he asked the crowd, why he could not become the chief minister of Karnataka. He told the crowd, " if Kumaraswamy could become CM, why not me?"

The statement was made at Tirthahalli when he was campaigning for Kimmane Ratnakar of the Congress. If you want me to become the CM of the state, send Ratnakar to the assembly he told the voters. This statement may have raised several eye-balls in the Congress. Siddaramaiah has already declared that he is the CM candidate as he is the captain of the team. There are also murmurs within the Congress that Dr. G Parameshwar too is an aspirant to the post. Shivakumar however ignored a question posed to him at a rally in Shivamogga. He was asked about the comment, but ignored it completely.
