Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Congress and CM Siddaramaiah for misleading people in the name of Mahadayi, saying "What the Congress is doing is showing its true character and people should know about it." Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about Mahadayi river issue while addressing public meeting Gadag district on Saturday. 

PM Modi said, "I wish the Karnataka CM would have asked Sonia Gandhi Ji about her 2007 promise on Mahadayi. If he would know of that promise he would not be misleading the people." "Sonia Gandhi told asked the people of Goa to vote for Congress if they don't want Mahadayi river water to be released to Karnataka," PM said. "We are committed to resolving the issue with consultations," he said.

PM Modi said that people are going to create history on May 15. "I believe you will defeat the Congress on that day and reduce the Congress to a regional party.will reduced PPP, ie, Punjab, Puducherry and Parivaar," added PM Modi. "Your dreams will be realized if only you vote for BS Yeddyurappa. We need support from the local government to develop the state which we didn't get from the Congress," he said.
