PM Modi: 'Contribution of women leads to development of country'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said BJP need to expose the hollow promises made by Congress party and urge the people of Karnataka to join the journey of development. He was interacting with the Karnataka BJP Mahila Morcha through NaMo app on Friday.

In the interaction with Karnataka party workers, PM Modi said many schemes meant for women's empowerment were not in the right direction after BJP became to power, we started many schemes from women's health to maternity leave, so that they could get all the necessary amenities after delivery to maker her life smooth. "It has always been our effort to give equal opportunity to women. When the contribution of women in the country increases, the development of the country is ensured," PM said. PM Modi attacked the Congress saying, " If Congress does not spread a lie, it'll lose its relevance. We'll win the election but for us, it is important to win polling booth." While highlighting BJP government's schemes for women, PM Modi said, "We increased maternity leave for women to 6 months, more than 1.26 core accounts were created under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana scheme. Over 10 lakh accounts were created in Karnataka."

*Under PM MUDRA yojana, 12 crore loans have been allocated out of which more than 70 per cent of the beneficiaries are women. They are not only self-employed but also employing others

*Ujjawala scheme has also helped in the preservation of water in rural areas, as the utensils are not getting stained due to cooking on smoke-free LPG stove.

Rani Snyukta, State VP Mahila Morcha asks PM Modi about the security of women in the backdrop of rising incidence of crime against women. PM Modi replied, "The government has recently made stringent amendments in laws relating to crimes against women and children, increasing the punishment up to death penalty in some cases. Also, Awareness in the society about atrocities on women and sense of responsibility can help us get rid of social evil."
