Prime Minister Narendra Modi while interacting with BJP Kisan Morcha Karyakartas through Namo app alleged that farmers in Karnataka could not get the benefit of Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme due to the indifference of the Congress government.

PM Modi said, "Owing to the indifference of the Karnataka Government, farmers in the state could not get the benefit of Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme. Karnataka should have a government that is sensitive to farmers, agriculture and farmers' welfare." "There needs to be coordination among nature, farmer and government," PM said. PM Modi stated that one crore farmers have been provided Soil Health Card in Karnataka, adding 4 lakh hectare land in Karnataka has already been brought under micro-irrigation and one crore farmers have been provided soil health card in the state.

Also, PM Modi took questions from BJP Kisan Morcha Karyakartas. Asked about doubling of farmers income, PM replied, "We have increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) for notified crops to at least 1.5 times that of the production cost." "Around 3.5 crore farmers have been covered under PM Fasal Bima Yojana, out of which 14 lakh farmers belong to Karnataka," PM added. PM Modi asked Karnataka BJP workers to take a pledge to double farmers' income by 2022 and think of ways to improve agriculture. He said, "Think of ways to get the maximum benefit from farm to market, and try to link agriculture with technology."
