The importance of the Karnataka assembly elections can be seen in the fact that the party chiefs of both the BJP and Congress have travelled the state extensively.

While Rahul Gandhi has covered all 30 districts, Amit Shah is all set to hit that number. It is clear that both the chiefs want to leave nothing to chance the April-May heat has not deterred them from hitting the road extensively. Elections in Karnataka have always been an unpredictable affair and no party can take anything for granted. Rahul Gandhi has travelled 3,500 kilometres and covered 30 districts. In fact, this in itself is a record of sorts. During his visits to Karnataka, he has visited several mutts, temples and darghas. He even took part in a road shot between Ballari and Kalaburgi in which he covered a distance of 400 kilometres.
