Bengaluru: The incumbent Congress in Karnataka has slowly and steadily beaten the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its own game of winning voters online. As social media war between the two main rivals reaches a crescendo in the poll-bound state, on Saturday, the Congress trended the hashtag--#AdbhutaKarnataka--on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

The trend by hailing Karnataka as an "amazing" state in every respect is actually an attempt to highlight the Congress government's achievement in the last five years. As expected, the Congress supporters tweeted everything good about the state under the hashtag and the party's critics slammed it for its "misrule and corruption". The elections to the 224-member Assembly in Karnataka are scheduled on May 12. The results will be declared on May 15. "As the world looks to India for innovative solutions, India looks to Bengaluru and Karnataka. Bengaluru will thrive in an ecosystem of progressive policies, dynamic growth and vision, and this will be provided by the Congress Party only," said tech guru and Congress manifesto committee chairperson Sam Pitroda, while unveiling the highlights of the Nava Karnataka Manifesto of the party on Saturday at a college in Bengaluru.

"Congress takes the manifesto promises we make very seriously. Chief minister Siddaramaiah ensures each and every promise is implemented through budget allocations," said KJ George of the Congress at the event. On Friday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi released the party's manifesto in Mangaluru. "We released the Congress Manifesto for Karnataka earlier today. It captures the "Mann Ki Baat" of the people of Karnataka and makes very specific commitments that we intend to deliver on, including creating 1 Cr. new jobs over the next 5 yrs," tweeted Rahul. Here we bring you some tweets under the hashtag--#AdbhutaKarnataka: In response, the BJP trended the hashtag--#CongManifestoScam--and made some scathing attacks against the Congress and its manifesto.
