Bengaluru: The JD(S) and the BJP are likely to enter into a coalition in Mysuru and Mandya districts of the state for the upcoming state assembly elections.

This tie-up will be restricted only to these two districts, said party sources who have confirmed that the BJP will not field a candidate in Chamundeshwari constituency where JD(S) will field incumbent MLA G T Devegowda.

As per the proposal, JD(S) will not field a candidate in Varuna constituency against BJP's Shankar Bidri who will lock horns with Congress candidate Yathreendra Siddaramaiah.

In Mandya, BJP is expecting former minister Ambareesh into party fold. If he joins the party, then the BJP is likely to request the JD(S) to spare Mandya urban constituency. In return JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy wants BJP support in Nagamangala to defeat party rebel Cheluvaraya Swamy who will be contesting on Congress ticket.
