Mysuru: The two-day BJP state executive committee meeting in Mysuru concluded on Sunday.

In the meeting, discussions were held on steps to be taken to win 150 seats in the coming assembly elections and ending the Congress regime in the state. The prevailing drought in the state and the miserable failure of the government to tackle the issue were some of the other major issues discussed at the meeting.

The rift, combined with the lack of interest on the part of the state leadership to usher in unity in the party, seem to have demoralised the rank and file of the party at least to some extent.

However, Eshwarappa in his address stated that Yeddyurappa is like his brother and the chief ministerial candidate of the party. Yeddyurappa on his part said he endorsed Eshwarappa's views that the party should also contribute in mitigating the suffering of the people reeling under drought.

It is gathered that while BJP has set a target of winning 150 seats 25 plus seats in the next Assembly and Lok Sabha polls respectively, no concrete plans to achieve these targets was drawn at the meeting.

Meanwhile, BJP state general secretary Shobha Karandlaje has said that the central leadership will sort out all differences in the party soon.
