Admin of whatsapp group arrested for derogatory post on PM Modi

Murudeshwar: In first of its kind case in Karnataka, an admin of a whatsapp group has been held for an offensive post on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his group.

The arrest was made in Murudeshwar in Uttar Kannada district, following a recent law that made group admins accountable and responsible for posts appearing on their respective groups.

The arrested is Krishna Sannathamma Naika (30) an auto driver by profession and the admin of 'The Balse Boys' group. Naika is a resident of Doddabalse village of Bailur in Murudeshar.

Though a person named Ganesh Naika was arrested in the same case, he secured bail through court. Third accused Balakrishna Naika is missing.

It is said that a morphed picture of the PM was circulated in the group following which a person named Ananda Naika had filed a complaint. Acting instantly on the complaint, Murudeshwar police nabbed the accused.
