D-day arrives for poll contestants; Congress takes a lead in both Assembly segments

Mysuru: The counting for much-awaited bypoll for Nanjangud and Gundulpet has begun. While a clear trend is expected to be known by 9am, the Congress party has taken an early lead in both the Assembly segments.

Meanwhile elaborate security arrangements are in place at both the centres. In Nanjangud where the contest is between BJP candidate Srinivas Prasad and Congress candidate Kalale Keshavamurthy while in Gundulpet it is between Congress candidate Geetha Mahadeva Prasad and BJP candidate Niranjan.
