I want fair probe on constable suspension case, says Pramodh Madhwaraj

Udupi: With the opposition BJP making hue and cry over suspension of a constable attached to Malpe police station, District in-charge Minister Pramodh Madhwaraj has said that he wants a fair probe into both cases-assault on the factory worker by the constable and eve-teasing by the factory workers.

It may be recalled that Prakash, a constable attached to Malpe police station was suspended recently for assaulting a youth named Kumar, who works in fish meal factory owned by Pramodh Madhwaraj. As per Prakash, Kumar first passed derogatory comments at his pregnant wife and then tried to grab her by hand, when Prakash lost his cool and beat up the youth.

Close on the heels of this incident Prakash was suspended and since then Pramodh Madhwaraj is being held responsible for the suspension. As of now, a departmental probe has been ordered into the assault case. Police Circle Inspector will be leading the probe. Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector of Women's police station s probing the complaint of eve-teasing filed by Jyothi, wife of Prakash.
