CM Siddaramaiah to launch Rs 300 Cr development programme in Bantwal Taluk

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee President Harish Kumar revealed here on October 13 that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would arrive in the district on October 22 to launch a Rs 300 Crore development programme in Bantwal Taluk.

Addressing a press meet here, Harish Kumar said that the party had announced K K Manjunath of Kodagu as the official candidate for the upcoming Legislative Council elections in Karnataka, from South-West Teachers' Constituency. However, the opposition party was spreading rumours that Congress had not announced its official candidate, he alleged adding that in this constituency alone, there were 8,000 to 10,000 candidates, he said.

He also said that after Congress government came to power, it had increased the salary for teachers but the then BJP government had failed to do this. The Congress government also provided salaries for the teachers on time unlike the delay that was noticed during BJP regime, Harish said.He also said that Congress party's Mane Manege programme was a success in the district.Congress leader Ibrahim Kodijal, Corporator Appi and others were present.
