Bengaluru: Primary and secondary education minister Tanveer Sait has made it clear that it is impossible to direct government employees to send their children to the government-run schools.

According to Sait, as per the Supreme Court direction, parents have the right to select the school and medium of instruction. "We have received a report in this regard. But it is difficult to implement it," he said adding that the state government will set up model schools at each hobli level, which would boast of better facilities than any private school.

He also informed that following the complaints that teachers' salaries are delayed, the state government has issued a circular which ensures that Block Education Officers (BEOs) and DDPIs get salary only after teachers of each block get salaries. He also announced that from next year, the BMTC and KSRTC passes will be distributed in classes instead of bus stations.
