Mangaluru: BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa has attacked the Siddaramaiah government at the state in connection to the killing of journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh.

Addressing reporters at Mangaluru airport on Wednesday, Yeddyurappa said that the Congress government at the state has failed to provide security to people in general. Gauri Lankesh was murdered at her residence which itself reflects the sorry affairs of law and order in the state.

Demanding a comprehensive probe into the killing that took place on Tuesday evening, Yeddyurappa said that even rationalist Kalaburgi’s murderers have not been nabbed. In connection to Mangaluru Chalo rally Yeddyurappa said that the event will take place on stipulated date without fail.

"As many as 24 Hindutva activist have been murdered in the state. Many of these killings have taken place in Dakshina Kannada district itself and district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai’s negligence is the main factor behind this. We will continue to protest till Ramanath Rai resigns from the post,” he said.
