Govt. mulls over free education for all girls from Class I to PG

Bengaluru: One more 'bhagya' from the state government is on cards. If everything goes as per the plans, the state government wants to provide free education from class I to Post Graduation to all the girl students in the state.

According to the state higher education minister, Basavaraja Rayareddy, the state government has already formed a committee in this regard, which will submit its report to the state government."After considering all the pros and cons, the state government will take a decision in this regard. The state government will not think about financial burden. But every girl student must get quality education," he said.

He also stated that this year state government will provide laptops to all the students of first year degree free of cost."Tender has been floated in this regard and by November all the students will get free laptops. From next academic year even the post graduate students will get free laptops,' he said.On the delay in the appointment of new Vice Chancellors to the state universities he stated that with in next one week all the universities will get the new VCs.
