Mysuru: The district administration is contemplating introducing single ticket to facilitate tourists visit all five prime tourist destinations in the cultural city.

Negotiations are in progress with "Book My Show", an online booking company in this connection wherein tourists can visit palace, zoo, KRS, Chamundi hills and Karanji Lake using a single ticket.

Though provision exists to book tickets online to visit individual tourist destinations, the introduction of single ticket will solve many problems for tourists visiting Mysuru city from distant locations during festive season, weekends and summer vacation, according to district administration. If everything goes well, the new system will be in place before Dasara, said Deputy Commissioner D Randeep, keen on introducing the new system.

Once introduced, tourists will have to pay a fixed amount for booking tickets online through designated websites decided by the district administration.Nearly 35 lakh Indian and foreign tourists visit the cultural city annually and with the introduction of the new system, they need not have to sweat out standing in long queues at city’s tourist locales for hours to avail entry tickets.

This will save time for the visitors and they will not have to stand in the sun for the ticket. Thus all five tourist destinations can be visited directly. The district administration has decided to provide tickets through Dasara website and tourist department site.
