Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has challenged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to provide evidences of corruption against ministers D.K. Shivakumar and Ramesh Jarkiholi.

Addressing media persons here on Friday, KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwara said there was no substance in the allegations.“Let them release documents,” Dr. Parameshwara said. “Did the Income Tax Department provide information to the BJP leaders on assets possessed by the Congress leaders?”, he sought to know.

BJP on Friday launched a protest seeking resignations of Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Small Scale Industries Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi whose premises were recently raided by the Income Tax Department.Meanwhile, Shivakumar asserted that there was no question of resigning because of pressure from the BJP. He said that neither Shah nor Yeddyurappa had any right to demand his resignation as the Income Tax officials were still verifying the records.

In another development, the Congress is learnt to have formed a team of former police officers, social and RTI activists to dig in to the scandals of BJP leaders, especially of Yeddyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, Shobha Karandlaje, and K.S. Eshwarappa to counter the campaign launched by the BJP.
