Lokayukta Justice K. Vishwanath Shetty makes surprise visit to girls hostels in Udupi

Udupi: Karnataka Lokayukta Justice K. Vishwanath Shetty paid an unannounced visit to government hostels in Udupi District.

He visited hostels at Aroor Moraji Residential School, Bannanje Pre-metric girl’s Hostel which comes under Social Welfare department, ITDP Bannanje Ashram School, Backward classes post metric girls’ hostel, Pre metric girls hostel Brahmavar.

He advised the hostel authorities to use vacant spaces in the hostels for gardens and wherever there was no place for sports activities, he asked them to create space for the same.

He was not happy with some hostels and asked the management to act fast to provide the necessary facilities for the students and said that he would visit more hostels in due course of time.

The Lokayukta was accompanied by Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner, Mahesh Chandra Udupi Tahasildar, Harish Gaonkar, District officer of backward classes welfare department and Ramesh from social welfare department during the visit of hostels.
