State govt. appoints Rohini Sindhuri as DC of Hassan

Hassan: The state government has appointed Rohini Sindhuri as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Hassan district replacing V Chaitra , who served in the district for the past one year.

Rohini Sindhuri serving as Chief Executive Officer of Mandya Zilla Panchayat has been promoted as DC and is likely to take charge soon. Deputy Commissioner V Chaitra received the information of her transfer during the end of the District Development Coordination and Supervisory Committee meeting chaired by former prime minister H D Devegowda.

On receiving the information, she was given a warm sendoff by the officials and staff of Hassan district administration.

Rohini Sinduri has done commendable job in the construction of toilets as CEO of Mandya ZP. Her efforts have been widely acknowledged for making several pockets in Mandya district open-defecation free. She has now been promoted and will take over as deputy commissioner for the first time soon.

People in Mandya district are opposed to her transfer as they feel her transfer will hinder the development there. Rohini, on the other hand praised the people of Mandya and felt many works remained incomplete but expressed happiness over the experience gained.

The 33-year-old officer Rohini Sindhuri is a graduate in chemical engineering from Andhra Pradesh and belongs to 2009 IAS batch
