Mangaluru: Following increasing and continued instances of attack on the Hindus in trouble-torn Kalladka and other places across the district, the Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike has decided to stage a massive protest on June 20 at BC Road Junction.

Vedike Convener Muralikrishna Hasanthadka told the reporters on Thursday that the Hindus are under attack, but it so seems that district in-charge minister and other elected representatives from the region are turning a blind eye towards the same purposely.

"Despite repeated attacks and murder attempts on the Hindus, the administration still seems to be in a slumber. No action is being initiated against the culprits and neither are there efforts to put an end to these obnoxious hate-driven crime," he said adding that illegal cattle trafficking, Love Jihad and other crimes targeting the Hindus have been going on, challenging the law of the land.

"Every time the police arrest accused hailing from a particular community, the elected representatives intervene and tie up the hands of the police. This is more so in places like Ullal, Talapady and in Kalladka," he said, stating that the stir has been planned to draw the attention of the administration towards issues concerning the religious majority and that over 25,000 Hindus will join the protest. The Vedike members said that it would be a peaceful protest, as Section 144 is in place. Racviraj BC road and others were present.
