Govt. to probe into reports of plastic rice & sugar being sold

Bengaluru: Amid reports of “plastic rice and sugar” being sold in the market, including through fair price shops Health and Family Welfare Minister K.R. Ramesh Kumar on Friday informed the Legislative Assembly that a thorough probe would be conducted to check the veracity of these reports.

Responding to a question raised by opposition BJP leader Jagdish Shettar, the minister said that preliminary inquiries by experts indicate that these reports are false, however the government will inquire into the same and place all details of the inquiry before the House on Monday.

Discussing the issue during Zero Hour, Shettar urged the government to get a report on the matter and create awareness among the people if the reports were true.
