Bengaluru: The State government is contemplating to make Aadhar card compulsory for the organ donors.

According to the reliable sources, state health department is planning to take the responsibility of coordinating between the donors and patients on its own. Under this exercise, state health and family welfare department is considering developing an interactive website to make the whole process hassle-free.

Another interesting proposal under consideration is making Aadhar compulsory for living donors to put an end to the organ selling racket."Once Aadhar is made compulsory it is easy to track the donors, their relation with the patients and why they have donated the organ. It is the first step towards making the whole process more reliable and transparent," explained sources.

Presently several organisations are coordinating the organ donation drive in the state. Zonal Coordination Committee of Karnataka for Transplantation (ZCCK) is in the forefront of this noble drive.
