Issue notices to PDO if water bills are not cleared, says Minister Madhwaraj

Udupi: With the Gram Panchayat remaining to be major defaulters when it comes to water bills, District in-charge Minister Pramodh Madhwaraj has said that notices may be issued to respective Panchayat Development Officers if the clearance of water bill are delayed by the Panchayats.

Addressing a meeting on Thursday evening, Madhwaraj told the Executive Officers of all the Taluk Panchayats that they must initiate action in this regard at the earliest.

Most of the Panchayats are banking on tankers for water supplies and it has been noticed that most of them have not cleared the tanker bills. In this backdrop, the Minister said that the PDOs must ensure that the bills are cleared within 24 hours.

Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, Tahshildar Maheshchandra, Municipal Commissioner Manjunathaiah among others were present.
