Kannada superstar Shivrajkumar’s latest outing Tagaru is having a dream run in cinemas and is on its way to emerge as one of the biggest hits of Kannada filmdom in recent times. Released on February 23, the film continues to draw audiences to theatres as it is closing in on 100-day theatrical run which is a rare feat nowadays.

Talking to Bangalore Mirror, the film’s distributor Jayanna said: “The film is set to complete 100 days in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hassan, Shivamogga, Davangere and Mandya. In Bengaluru, it will complete 100 days in Santhosh and Veeresh and probably Siddalingeshwara. As of now, I see it completing 100 days in 8 to 9 single screens and 5 to 6 multiplexes.” Directed by Duniya Soori, the film marks his second time collaboration with Shivanna after Kadupiddi.

A cop versus gangsters’ tale, the film featured Shivanna in the role of a cop and audiences loved his performance in this realistic story. Despite the film’s non-linear screenplay, the film worked with the audiences and emerged as the biggest strength. The film also stars Dhananjay, Vasishta Simha, Manvitha Harish, Bhavana Menon, Devaraj and others in prominent roles. Lyricist Jayanth Kaikini and composer Charan Raj make a guest appearance in a song.
