As teased last week, OnePlus has officially launched the Red edition of OnePlus 6 in India. The smartphone comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone will be available for buying for a price tag of Rs 39,999. Interested consumers will be able to purchase the OnePlus 6 Red edition phone starting July 16 in India. OnePlus is yet to reveal their e-commerce partner for the OnePlus 6 Red edition.

The new OnePlus 6 Red edition features an amber-like effect. OnePlus has used optical coating, evaporative film, and six panels of glass to build the OnePlus 6 Red edition. An added anti-reflective layer has also been used in designing the OnePlus 6 Red so that more light can reach the bottom layers of glass before being reflected off the device to create a sense of depth. "A translucent orange layer intermixes with the red base layer to achieve a radiant glossy red, unique to OnePlus," says OnePlus.

"We believe power and attitude can be both elegant and humble, and we have strived to achieve this with the OnePlus 6 Red Edition," says Pete Lau, CEO and Founder, OnePlus. "We worked to avoid an overly bright red color while still capturing a sense of self-confidence and positivity. Achieving the amber-like effect took several months to refine and perfect."

The OnePlus 6 Red edition boasts of a metallic red shimmer coupled with the red, mirror-like fingerprint sensor and silver camera lens accent.

OnePlus claims that OnePlus 6 is the fastest selling device in the company's history. OnePlus says that within 22 days of the launch of the phone, one million OnePlus 6 phones were sold. The company believes that the new OnePlus 6 Red edition will be "another great choice for users around the world."

In terms of specs, OnePlus 6 Red edition comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The camera, processor, software and other specs remain the same as the OnePlus 6 Midnight and Mirror black edition.

The OnePlus 6 comes with a 6.28-inch screen and FullHD+ display with a resolution of 2280x1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The OnePlus 6 sports a dual-camera set up consisting of a primary sensor of 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 sensor paired with f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and EIS. The secondary sensor includes a 20-megapixel Sony IM376K sensor with f/1.7 aperture. On the front, the OnePlus 6 comes with a 16-megapixel selfie shooter coupled with a Sony IMX371 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and EIS.

OnePlus 6 is a powerful phone and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clocked up to 2.8GHz, coupled with an Adreno 630 GPU. The smartphone comes with a dual SIM support and runs OxygenOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The OnePlus phone is backed by a 3300 mAh battery and comes with Dash charging support.
