Indus OS launches new keyboard with more India-centric features

Android - based Indian operating system, Indus OS has announced the launch of its new Indus Keyboard with more India-centric features. As such the latest version will introduce speech-to-text in Indian languages.

The new keyboard will also allow users to speak into the phone in their preferred language while the text will automatically be recognized and displayed by just pressing a button. Additionally, the new version of Keyboard will support 23 Indian languages in addition to English, from earlier 12 regional languages.

It is now available in Assamese, Bengali, Gujrati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu, Nepali, Bodo, Dogri, Sanskrit, Konkani, Maithili, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Manipuri, Kashmiri Arabic, Santili and English. The new keyboard update will be released to existing Indus OS users and will be available on all new and future devices across all partners such as Micromax, Intex, Celkon, Swipe, Karbonn, and Trio.

With the latest version of Keyboard, users can also convert their selfies and photos into stickers and GIFs, thus allowing them to express themselves better. These features will add to existing patented matra predication, auto-correction, text-to-speech, english keyboard functionality and Indus Swipe (for translation and transliteration). The company has also collaborated with the government's Department of Electronics and IT (DeitY) to offer text-to-speech in nine languages.
