Kusal Mendis completed his fourth Test ton on Friday morning after Dhananjaya De Silva's 173 to lead a strong reply from Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in the first Test in Chittagong.

Sri Lanka began Day 3 on a strong note after reaching 187/1 at stumps on the second day, with Mendis taking little time to reach triple figures. They were 295/1 at lunch on Day 3. Dhananjaya fell shortly after the lunch break after scoring 173. Earlier, Rangana Herath and Suranga Lakmal took three wickets each to help the visitors dismiss Bangladesh for 513 in their first innings.
