Kohli slams 50th international ton, 18th in Test Criket

New Delhi: Indian skipper virat kohli added another feather to his cap as he slammed his 50th international ton on Monday. The Delhi batsman achieved the feat on Day 5 of the first Test match against Sri Lanka.

Batting on 98, Kohli charged down the wicket to slam Sri Lankan pacer Suranga Lakmal for a six over extra covers to reach the milestone. India declared their innings at 352/8, setting a 231-run target for the Islanders. Kohli remained unbeaten on 104.Prior to the first Test, Kohli had 32 ODI centuries to his name, along with 17 tons in Test cricket.

Since his One-Day International debut on August 18, 2008, Kohli has scored 32 ODI tons and this was his 18th Test hundred.Kohli resurgence has been phenomenal over the last few years. After getting his career started with a modest beginning, where he scored only one hundred and three fifties, the year 2010 marked a turnaround in his cricketing career.
