Star India wins IPL media rights for next five years

Star India won the Indian Premier League (IPL) media rights for the next five years with a bid of around Rs 17,000 Crores.

Star India bid the highest amount of Rs. 16347.50 Crores for IPL media rights for the next five years.The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) had found Airtel, Jio, Times Network and Facebook eligible for the digital rights of IPL.During the final bid, the BCCI found Sony and Star eligible for television broadcast rights in India, while SuperSport, YuppTV, Econet, OSN were found eligible for world broadcast.
