The voting for the Karnataka assembly elections would commence at 7am on Saturday 12th May 2018 and would go on till 6pm in the evening. Here is your guide to find your polling booth, what to carry, what to leave behind and how to verify your vote

* Check your name in the voters list available on www.ceokarnataka. kar.nic.in. Voter list is also available at the local Electoral Registration Office

* Keep handy your voter ID aka Electronic Photo Identity Card (EPIC) or other valid photo IDs and voter slip. Voter slips, with details of the polling booth, must have been handed over at your doorstep by booth-level officials and members of political parties as well

* Don’t worry if you don’t have the voter slip. There are other ways to find out polling booth details. Besides, voter slips can be obtained near polling booths on polling day at counters set up by major political parties

* To know your polling station address and other details, SMS your EPIC (Voter ID) card Number to 9731979899 in the following format: KAEPIC ID card no.

* Chunavana App, that can be downloaded on Android and iOS devices, is a handy guide for voters on tracking polling booths, reading up on candidates, contact numbers of officials to lodge complaints etc. You can even use it to book a wheelchair for physically challenged persons or the elderly. Another site for name search is kgis.ksrsac.in/election

* Voter assistance booths (VAB) will also be set up near polling booths to help voters get voter slips and also to help find the name of the voter in the cluster polling station

* Remember to account for parking. Private vehicles are not allowed within 200 metres of a polling station
