Mamata wished Omar Abdullah on his birthday

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday wished former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah "a long and healthy life" on his 47th birthday. The Chief Minister wished Abdullah on Twitter; "Birthday greetings to OmarAbdullah. Wish you a long and healthy life".

Omar Abdullah is the former Chief Minister of J-K. He was the 11th and the youngest CM of the state. After forming a government in coalition with the Congress party, on 5 January 2009. He is currently the Leader of Opposition in Jammu and Kashmir legislative Assembly and is the member of the Legislative Assembly from Beerwah constituency of Budgam district. Omar Abdullah was born on 10 March 1970 in Rochford, Essex, United Kingdom.

He is the son of Farooq Abdullah, a qualified doctor and grandson of Sheikh Abdullah, all three of whom have been Chief Ministers of Jammu and Kashmir. In 1998, at the age of 29, Omar Abdullah was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha, becoming the youngest minister. On the day of his birthday and on his 20 years of service as a public representative, Omar Abdullah wrote on Twitter; "10th March, 1998 I was elected to the Lok Sabha for the 1st time. Today I complete 20 uninterrupted years as a public representative. Wins & loses, good days & bad it's been an honour & a privilege to serve."
