Opposition party picks Gopal Krishna Gandhi as vice-president candidate

Opposition parties announce candidate for Vice Presidential election, elected Gopal Krishna Gandhi grandson of Mahatma Gandhi Gopal Krishna Gandhi was elected in New Delhi under the chairmanship of AICC president Sonia Gandhi.

Gopal Krishna Gandhi is a former state minister of West Bengal. The decision was taken at a meeting of 18 opposition parties led by Sonia Gandhi.JD (U), Sharad Yadav, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manohan Singh, TMC's Derek O'Brien and CPI (M)'s Sitaram Yechury participated.
