DMK members evicted en masse from Tamil Nadu assembly

The Opposition DMK members led by its leader M K Stalin were en masse evicted from the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday after creating ruckus and stalling the proceedings on Wednesday.

Soon after the question hour session, the DMK members tried to take the issue of two AIADMK MLAs, who allegedly confessed to a TV channel that huge money was offered to AIADMK legislators to support V K Sasikala's group during their stay at Koovathur resort ahead of the trust vote in Tamil Nadu assembly in February 2017.

The DMK members pointed out that their case will be taken by the court only on coming Friday and therefore, the matter could be raised in the House.Soon after the eviction, Stalin led his party legislators and staged protest demonstration by blocking the road.

Two private channels broadcasted video clips showing Madurai South MLA S S Saravanan from O Panneerselvam's camp and Sulur MLA R Kanagaraj from Edappadi Palaniswami faction allegedly disclosing that AIADMK MLAs, who were lodged in Kovathur resort, were offered money ranging from Rs 2 crore to ten crores besides promising gold to backup Sasikala's group.

The DMK moved the Madras High Court on Tuesday seeking a CBI probe into the allegations made by two AIADMK legislators that huge money was offered to MLAs during their stay in the resort.
