Supreme Court rejects state's review plea on Cauvery water release

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a plea made by Karnataka to review the September 20 order for release of 6,000 cusecs of Cauvery river water everyday to Tamil Nadu.

The court said the application does not survive now, as the direction stood modified and several other orders have since then been passed.

"We do not think that it is of any warrant to review the order situations having been changed, the application does not survive," a bench of Justices Dipak Misra and U U Lalit said.
