Very soon visitors will not be able to touch the Taj Mahal anymore
Very soon, visitors will not be able to touch the Taj Mahal
anymore. The Archaeological Survey of India is playing the villain, but for the
better of India's most famous monument.
It's very much possible that the next time you visit Taj
Mahal, you may not be able to touch it. You may find the iconic mausoleum -
symbolising Emperor Shah Jehan's love for Mumtaz - barricaded with
steel barriers. That is what the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) plans to
do to save the Taj Mahal from pollution.
Pollution may be a nemesis for the beautiful Taj Mahal and
its Makrana marble, for which the Archaeological Survey of India resorts to mud
therapy from time to time, but there's another threat that has gone unnoticed
for years - visitors touching the historical monument.
