On Women's Day, 33% Reservation to be Raised in Parliament

After 3 days of disrupting Lok Sabha over the demand for a special category status to Andhra Pradesh, two TDP MPs quit the Cabinet on 8 March, marring Parliament proceedings. The second phase of the Budget Session began on a stormy note. The Opposition targeted the Centre over several issues, including the string of multi-crore bank frauds, the Rafale deal and salaries of Prasar Bharati being withheld by Smriti Irani’s I&B

It seems Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi don't believe in democracy. They speak outside on democracy but don't practice it in Parliament. Congress doesn't have democracy in their genes,” Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Ananth Kumar said.

“We have included all important issues in list of business. We have also issued a 3-line Whip to all our MPs,” he added. There have been several protests outside the parliament on Tuesday. AIADMK MPs have been protesting in Parliament premises over constitution of the Cauvery Management Board, while TMC MPs protest in Parliament premises over the issue of Aadhaar linking. YSRCP MPs on the other hand, have been holding protests in the Parliament premises over demand of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh.
