President Kovind inaugurates Bahubali Mahamastakabhisheka

President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Bahubali Mahamastakabhisheka celebrations that is held once in 12 years, on Wednesday, in the Chavundaraya Sabha Mantapa. Soon after, President Kovind unveiled the idol of Bahubali and the nation's first couple were blessed by Vardhamana Sagara Maharaj.

This year's Mahamastakabhisheka is being held under the able leadership of Sri Matha Peethadyaksha Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji. It is being attended Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and MP H D Deve Gowda.  The historical global event began with a song dedicated to Lord Bahubali. Devotees from all over the country are attending this event. Among them are many Jain ascetics from all over India. The event is also being shown on a large screen for those seated outside the temple premises.
