If you have not updated Aadhaar yet and want to update it, then be ready to pay more as Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will now impose 18 percent Goods and Services Tax (GST) on updation of Aadhaar details.

Currently, the UIDAI charges Rs 25 for any update related to demographic information which includes name, address, date of birth, mobile, genrder and email. For biometric updates, it charges the same amount of Rs 25. However, biometric and demographic updates for children are free of cost.

If UIDAI impose 18% GST on Aadhaar updation, then the subscribers have to pay Rs 4.5 extra. Meanwhile, the UIDA also tweeted the list of support documents that will be needed to update Aadhaar. "To update details in your Aadhaar, you need to present the supporting documents," UIDAI tweeted. This will not be applicable for mobile number, email or biometric updates. And if you want your Aadhaar updates to be done, then kindly visit the nearest Aadhaar centre at a bank branch or post office.
