Deve Gowda came to Davos with his family, says Rahul Bajaj

Bajaj Group chairman Rahul Bajaj, who is a part of PM Narendra Modi's over 100 delegates to World Economic Forum, alleged that former PM Deve Gowda came to Davos with his family, saying that was not the right thing to do. HD Deve Gowda was 11th Prime Minister of India from 1 June 1996 to 21 April 1997.

Rahul Bajaj, said, "Deve Gowda came to Davos 21 years ago. Unfortunately, he came with his entire family, perhaps not the right thing to do. It's a very serious occasion, not a picnic." "Anyway, we're delighted that PM Modi is coming, he said.

"Our economy is great, we have problems but this PM is outstanding. I don't want to equate my nation with any individual, we have our problems but a lot of our population is below 35, if we provide them education and skills, it will be really strong demographic dividend," he added.

PM Modi, who arrives on January 22, will be delivering the keynote address at the plenary session the next day. Twenty years after Deve Gowda in 1997, Narendra Modi is the first Indian PM to lead a delegation to Davos. The theme of this year's meeting is 'Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World'.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lead the 'largest ever' Indian contingent of over 100 delegates to Switzerland during the four-day World Economic Forum. The Prime Minister would deliver a keynote address at the 48th event of the World Economic Forum on January 23. The ministry has said PM Modi would also hold a bilateral meeting with Alain Berset, the President of the Swiss Confederation.
