Select base metals decline on lower demand

Mumbai : Select base metals including copper, brass utensils scrap, zinc, tin and nickel declined at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists' selling amid lower demand from industrial users.

Brass sheet cuttings recovered marginally owing to renewed demand from consuming industries.Nickel slipped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 790 from Monday's close Rs 810 and tin eased by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,340 as against Rs 1,345, yesterday.Copper armiture and copper sheet cuttings slid by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 410 and Rs 405 as compared yesterday's close Rs 414 and Rs 409.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper utensils and copper billets moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 445, Rs 434, Rs 385 and Rs 473 as against Rs 448, Rs 437, Rs 388 and Rs 476 respectively.Brass utensils scrap and zinc softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 309 and Rs 239.However, brass sheet cuttings marginally rebounded by Rs 1 per kg to Rs 309.
