TN Govt. inducts four transgenders into police force

In a first, the Tami Nadu government on Monday gave appointment orders to four transgenders for joining the state police force. Along with these four, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami also appointment orders to other new recruits selected by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB).

Speaking at the event, the CM asked the police and other uniformed personnel to be courteous and careful while dealing with citizen's complaints. The Chief Minister stressed that such personnel, including police, should show no "hatred or favour" while discharging their duties. "You should be courteous, careful, humble and caring while dealing with people's complaints and be honest and unbiased (in approach). These are your foremost duty," he said.
