Bharti Airtel one of the popular networks in India has yet again introduced a new plan for its subscribers. Airtel is now offering 1GB of 4G/3G/2G data along with unlimited local and STD voice calls with a recharge of Rs 199.

But Airtel might put up the restriction on voice calls to 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week. The plan will be valid for 28 days and it is for existing Airtel prepaid customers. Likewise, the company has also introduced Rs 178 plan which is applicable for new customers. This plan also offers similar benefits and new customers taking the connection can avail this offer within their first or second recharge. In any case, Airtel has seemingly launched these two plans to counter Reliance Jio's Rs 149 plan which gives 2GB of data and unlimited voice calls for 28 days.

Airtel has introduced a host of new offers lately. However, this might not only be the space that Airtel is targeting Jio on. The company after bringing down the prices for its data plans and offering unlimited voice call benefits to its users is gearing up to launch its 4G smartphone that might be priced at Rs. 2,000. So we will be seeing these two telecom operators go head to head in terms of mobile phones as well.
