Bengaluru: Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Gauri Lankesh murder case has subjected two former underworld dons to an inquiry on Tuesday. According to the highly placed sources, SIT officials had summoned Muttappa Rai and Agni Shridhar for investigation.

According to the sources, Agni Shridhar recently had stated that he knows how organised crime acts are carried out in a cold-blooded manner. Based on his statement he was inquired.

Muttappa Rai has filed a defamation case against Gauri Lankesh which is still in the court of law. The SIT had summoned Rai to inquire about his connection with Gauri. But Rai reportedly informed that he was not in town and that he was in Puttur on September 5 the day of Gauri's murder.
