PM Narendra Modi will gift you bullet train today

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a dream gift to the country just few days before his birthday. And yes, the first bullet train will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, will start ferrying passengers from 2023. The bullet train will run at a speed of 350 kilometre per hour.

PM Modi's birthday falls on September 17, while, Abe’s birthday falls on September 21.  A  High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train) simulator has been set up at  Mahatma Mandir Exhibition Centre here,  PM Modi and PM Shinzo Abe will visit the exhibition on Thursday.

Bullet train is one of the key poll promises made by PM Modi during the 2014 elections. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 1 lakh crore, of which 81 per cent will be financed through a loan from Japan. In 2016, during his Japan visit PM Modi had travelled on Shinkashen bullet train from Tokyo to Kobe. The same technology will be used in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train. 

To prepare Indian Railways for the bullet train, Japan will train 4000 Indian officials, and a training school is will be set up in Ahmedabad. The government also plans to run bullet trains on Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Kolkata, Delhi-Chennai, Mumbai-Chennai, Kolkata-Chennai and Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysore routes.
